    Hebrews: Discipline
    Series: NT: Hebrews
When you hear the word Discipline what do you think about?  The difference between discipline and judgment is discipline has a goal, to develop a person so that in the future they can behave differently or be prepared for something.  Hebrews chapter 12 challenge us to try something hard, push forward, and accept the discipline of the Lord as Love.

Hebrews: A Great Cloud of Witnesses
    Series: NT: Hebrews
Did you know that clouds are made of tiny drops of water or ice crystals that settle on dust particles in the atmosphere? The droplets are so small - a diameter of about a hundredth of a millimeter - that means on average each cubic foot of air will contain about 3 million droplets.  In the same way, the Book of Hebrews affirms that those of us who follow the God of
Abraham, Issac, and Jacob are a part of such a great cloud of witnesses that we are encouraged to run a race dropping everything that gets in the way.  Rabbi Rosenberg challenges us to make our lives into a testimony that witness the Glory of God and how He works in the lives of his people.

    Hebrews: No Bodies Perfect
    Series: NT: Hebrews
Every year, we are bombarded by TV, print, and online ads selling us on the idea that this the year that extra weight finally comes off… According to some data, Americans spend over $60 billion annually to try to lose pounds.  However, it turns out even with all that work and money
no bodies perfect.  The book of Hebrews reminds us that the Law is the only shadow of things to come because it involves flawed human beings.  However, Yeshua offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice so that we can be accepted by God as perfect.  The only downside is that now that we don't have the daily Levitical sacrifices we also have a tendency to forget that we are still imperfect, sinners saved by grace.  In this week's sermon, Rabbi Rosenberg challenges us to offer ourselves as a daily living sacrifice, made possible by the work of Yeshua on the cross.  Yeshua offers himself as a perfect sacrifice so that we can offer our imperfect bodies in service to the Lord.

    Hebrews: Once Upon a Time
    Series: NT: Hebrews
Thousands of stories start with a simple "Once upon a time.."  These events only happen once and the writer often uses this opening because the story is unique and sometimes unbelievable.  The writer of Hebrew tells us that something so special happened when Yeshua died on the cross, that his sacrifice was greater and more sufficient, that it only had to happen once.  This is no mere fairy tale, it is the essence of the good news of Yeshua the Messiah.  Our Messiah died for your sins once and for all.  In fact, Rabbi Jake challenges us to consider the motives of our belief.  Is Yeshua a means to an end or is the good news a relationship with the one true God of the universe.
